Q: What is the best route to head down to get into session work? (joegreenwood, July 5th, 2006)

(original question)

There’s no surefire route to getting sessions, just play with as many musicians as you can and hopefully one thing will lead to another. If someone hears you and likes what you do,they may call you further down the line.
In the studio,if you know your instrument and are quick on the uptake,in terms of arrangements and taking direction,it will help.

    Good Morning Pino,

Are you sometimes asked for a fretless bassline again today, or is it just not the musical spirit of the moment ?

    Thanks for your answer

    Kind regards

Hello Pino. I’ve listened to your stuff for many years and as a developing amateur bassist, always enjoys your unique style. My question is this: What advice would you give a person (such as myself) towards developing “your own sound/style”. I know it’s a very subjective question, but your comments are greatly appreciated.

Keep the groove coming, I love your work. Best regards, -Chris
